Glass
He turns to the door without hesitation, Chills quake my empty stomach.
Going to her,
Leaving me cheapened and deflated. I feel my lip tremble.
He doesn’t look back, Ignores the cries, Stony and indifferent.
The handle turns and he lifts his case, A waterfall of pitiful tears plead on my cheeks, Our bond, our friendship, our love gone.
My teeth scrape,
Head feels light with aching memories, Lost to me forever!
He leaves,
Sickness bites my hollow belly, I hurt.
Slowly my body solidifies, expands, hardens, I am ice!
I am stone!
I am empty and alone!
The cracks form;
Creaking, moving, tearing through. No human form remains, Only a breaking statue.
In that moment I shatter like glass to the floor, His life goes on, much the same as before.
